Fütbol Club Barcelona icon Xavier Hernandez Creus was born in Terrassa on 25th January 1980. Xavi made his senior debut playing for FC Barcelona B against Mensajero on 27th September 1997. After scoring on his Spain debut against Holland In November 2000. he went on to make 133 appearances and score 13 goals for his country.
Xavi started his career at Fütbol Club Barcelona in 1995/96. breaking into the first-team in 1998 and making a total of 17 league appearances and scoring one goal for the club. During this time he also spent time at Futbol Club Barcelona B. making 51 league appearances and scoring 2 goals. Xavi’s FC Barcelona B team lifted the Segunda División B3 in 1998. In 1998/99 he rejoined Futbol Club Barcelona and made 488 league appearances and scored 57 goals. During this time he also spent time at Futbol Club Barcelona B. making 4 league appearances and scoring one goal. During his time with Fütbol Club Barcelona and Spain, Xavi’s team lifted the Liga BBVA In 1999, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2015. the FIFA Club World Cup in 2009 and 2011. won the FIFA World Cup U-20 In 1999. the FIFA World Cup In 2010. the UEFA European Championship in 2008 and 2012. the UEFA Champions League 4 times between 2006 and 2015, the UEFA Super Cup In 2009 and 2011, the Copa del Rey 3 times between 2009 and 2015 and the Supercopa de Espaha 6 times between 2005 and 2013.
In July 2015 he joined Al-Sadd Sports Club. making 14 league appearances and scoring one goal.
Xavi has built up a phenomenal record of 30 competition wins throughout his career: Liga BBVA (FC Barcelona 1999,2005.2006, 2009.2010. 2011,2013 and 2015). Segunda Division 83 (FC Barcelona B 1998), FIFA Club World Cup (FC Barcelona 2009 and 2011). FIFA World Cup U-20 (Spain 1999), FIFA World Cup (Spain 2010). UEFA European Championship (Spain 2008 and 2012), UEFA Champions League (FC Barcelona 2006.2009. 2011 and 2015). UEFA Super Cup (FC Barcelona 2009 and 2011). Copa del Rey (FC Barcelona 2009, 2012 and 2015) and Supercopa de Espana (FC Barcelona 2005.2006,2009.2010, 2011 and 2013).
Xavi has also earned recognition from the footballing community for his achievements: Named Spanish League Player of the Year runner-up, won the Spanish Player of the Year. European Championship Best Player. Club World Championship Best Player third place on two occasions, won the World Player of the Year. FIFA Ballon d'Or third place on three occasions and Best Player In Europe runner-up.
