FC Porto Icon Anderson Luis de Souza was born In 580 Bernardo do Campo (SP) on 27th August 1977. In a playing career which spanned 18 years from 1995 to 2013. Deco made 41 appearances and scored 67 goals. After scoring on his Portugal debut against Brazil in March 2003. he went on to make 75 appearances and score 5 goals for his country.
Deco began his career at Nacional AC (SP) in 1995. In 1996 he joined Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, making 17 league appearances and scoring 2 goals.
Deco moved to SC Santa Rita In 1997. In 1997/98 he Joined Alverce. makIng 32 league appearances and scoring 13 goals.
In 1998/99 heJoined SC Salgueiros, making 9 league appearances and scoring 2 goals. Deco’s spell at SC Salgueiros didn’t last long and in 1998/99 he joined FC Porto. maktng 148 league appearances and scorIng 32 goals in 6 years. During his time with FC Porto, Deco’s team lifted the Primeira Liga in 1999.2003 and 2004, the UEFA Champions League in 2004 and won the UEFA Europa League in 2003.
In 2004/05 he Joined Futbol Club Barcelona for €17.5M and made 113 league appearances and scored 11 goals. During his time with FC Barcelona, Deco’s team lifted the Uga BBVA in 2005 and 2006 and the UEFA Champions League In 2006. In July 2008 he joined Chelsea FC f €11.25M and made 43 league appearances and scored 5 goals. During his time with Chelsea. Deco’s team lifted the Barclays Premier League in 2010 and the FA Community Shield in 2009.
In August 2010 he joined Fluminense Football Club, making 56 league appearances and scorIng 2 goals. During his time with Fluminense, Deco’s team lifted the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A in 2010 and 2012 and the Brazilian Rio de Janeiro State Championship in 2012.
Deco has a great record of 13 competition wins to his name: Barclays Premier League (Chelsea 2010), Premeira Liga (FC Porto 1999,2003 and 2004), Liga BBVA (FC Barcelona 2005 and 2006), Campeonato Brasileiro Série A (Fluminense 2010 and 2012).
