West Ham United FC icon Rio Gavin Ferdinand was born in London on 7th November 1978. in a playing career which spanned 20 years from 1995 to 2015. Ferdinand made 514 appearances and scored 11 goals. Ferdinand made his senior debut playing for West Ham against Sheffield Wednesday on 5th May 1996. After Scoring for his England debut against Cemeroon in November 1997, he went on to make 81 appearances and score 3 goals for his countly.
Ferdinand began his career at West Ham United FC In 1995/96. making a total of 127 league appearances and scoring 2 goals for the club. During this time he also spent time on loan at Athletic Football Club Boumemouth, making 10 league appearances. After leaving West Ham in November 2000. Ferdinand moved to Leeds United, going on to make 54 appearances.
After leaving Leeds United In July 2002. Ferdinand moved to Manchester United, going on to make 312 appearances. During his time with Manchester United. Ferdinand’s team lifted the Barclays Premier League in 2003,2007.2008.2009,2011 and 2013, the FIFA Club World Cup In 2008, won the UEFA Champions League in 2008, the Capital One Cup in 2006 and 2009 and the FA Community Shield 4 times between 2003 and 2011.
Ferdinand finally hung up his boots at the age of 36 in June 2015 following a short spell with OPR where he made 11 appearances.
